Can you believe it?! This is my 200th post on Blackboard Kitchen! Seems like a cause to celebrate...
...Maybe I'll buy a house today to celebrate. Yeah, I think that's a good idea.
Okay, maybe it won't be to celebrate the 200th post on BK, but we are closing on our first house this afternoon. We'll be homeowners in less than 12 hours! We are excited, nervous, and anxious, but mostly excited. It seems like we've worked towards this goal for a long time; it feels a bit unreal, now that it's actually happening. Keep your fingers crossed for us today that it all goes smoothly!
But, back to the 200th post thing. Do you remember when you were in Kindergarten and your class celebrated the 100th day of school? Everybody would bring in 100 somethings: toothpicks, or pennies or paper towel tubes, or dried beans. I have no idea what I brought, but it was probably something weird like 100 little balls of toe fuzz, or 100 different pink Barbie outfits. This young boy, Tarak McLain, brought in a list of 100 things he believes in for his 100th day of Kindergarten and it was recorded by NPR for part of their "This I Believe" series. It is one of the podcasts I played for my class last year, and then we wrote our own (pretty cool) "This I Believe" statements. This one is my favorite. Check it out by clicking on the link below!
