We had a fabulous Easter, filled with family, friends, and good food. Easter was at our house this year – our first large gathering at our house and we had such a great day. My dear friend Nicki, whom I have been friends with since we were randomly placed together as roommates in our freshman year of college, photographed the day for us. She is an amazing photographer and I feel so lucky to be able to remember the day through her eyes.
Freshly squeezed lemonade with an infused lemon vodka and iced green tea to drink.
Nicki and her sister Lindsay brought me these gorgeous flowers. So springy – I love the combo of the eucalyptus and daisies.
And then it was lunch time. Sandwich spreads – I made a spread for each meat. We had a horseradish rosemary mayonnaise for the roast beef, chipotle mustard for the chicken, and a whiskey brown sugar mustard for the ham.
My mom and dad put together the meat and cheese trays. Have you ever seen such an attractive meat tray?
Salad with toasted walnuts, blue cheese (on the side), and a dijon vinaigrette.
My sister‘s colorful and fresh pasta salad.
My cousin Cara’s delicious fruit salad.
Freshly sliced bread for sandwiches.
And my Aunt Cheryl‘s dessert – made with berries, coconut, pineapple, and angel food cake.
The kitchen – covered with food, drinks, and many helping hands. The perfect mess.
There was much talking and laughter.
Much enjoyment of the food.
There were smiles.
There were stories.
There was a puppy helping to clean up.
There was rain – and a bit of sunshine.
And there were Easter baskets filled with fun things like purple bubbles.
It was an Easter to be remembered. When my mind forgets, I’ll return here and be thankful for the photographic memories.
