Grocery List

Estimated Cost:  $50

Produce

  • 2 shallots
  • 2 beefsteak tomatoes
  • 2 russet potatoes
  • 4 avocados
  • cilantro
  • ¼ cup red onion
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 1 head lettuce
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 head garlic
  • 1 lb. green beans

Meat

  • 1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 ½ lbs. boneless sirloin steak
  • ½ lb. hot Italian sausage
  • 1 ½ lbs. pork chops

Pantry

  • 1 carton reduced-sodium chicken broth
  • whole-grain or creole mustard
  • 4 large sun-dried tomatoes, packed in oil
  • ¾ cup polenta (yellow cornmeal)
  • ¼ cup dried cherries
  • Pizza dough (either a mix, pre-made, or ingredients to make your own)
  • 1 small can tomato sauce, no salt added

Dairy

  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey jack or Colby jack
  • 1 tbs. butter
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Pantry Items

As always, there are several pantry items that you will need and are not on this week’s grocery list. Be sure you have the following on hand: salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, dried basil, dried oregano, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, basalmic vinegar, canola oil, olive oil, all-purpose flour.
